Hello, hello You may have been wondering (or wond'ring) where I've been, or perhaps where I'm going. I'd like to fill you in on both, just so you don't think I'm rudely ignoring you -- as surely some of you do -- or dead or something. On Saturday, June 21st at 12:00am Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the 870 page tome that advances the saga of a now-fifteen year old bespecticalled wizard-in-training another year, was released to salivating fans such as myself everywhere. Needless to say, I purchased my copy and locked myself away in order to give it a good read through. I didn't finish it as quickly as some (Carson... psycho), but I finished it. I enjoyed it, but for my full thoughts, you'll have to contact me. I'm just depressed that I'm finished. I am now going to attempt to read one of the many books I have halfway finished several times over (As I am unable to find Lem's Solaris at the moment, it will be Dave Eggers's You Shall Know Our Velocity) before I begin a Kurt Vonnegut book at the request of Monsieur Bullok (now lovingly referred to as "J.W." in our circle of friends). Ahhh Harry Potter, how you influence my reading-appetite.
I'm listening to Jason's Postal Service CD right now... it is truly wonderful. Download "Such Great Heights" for a good introduction to their very electronic and ultimately mesmerizing sound as well as their awesome lyrics. If you don't enjoy, then you can cross my name off your will, because I don't want any.
As for where I'm going, that's Georgia, and that's in three days! And now a bit more Postal Service, because that's what we all want. This one's called "Clark Gable", and it goes out to you.
i was waiting for a cross-town train in the
london underground when it struck me
that i've been waiting since birth to find a
love that would look and sound like a movie
so i changed my plans i rented a camera and
a van and then i called you
"i need you to pretend that we are in love
again." and you agreed to
i want so badly to believe that "there is truth,
that love is real"
and i want life in every word to the extent
that it's absurd
i greased the lens and framed the shot using
a friend as my stand-in
the script it called for rain but it was clear
that day so we faked it
the marker snapped and i yelled "quiet on
the set" and then called "action!"
and i kissed you in a style clark gable would
have admired (i thought it classic)
i want so badly to believe that "there is truth,
that love is real"
and i want life in every word to the extent
that it's absurd
i know you're wise beyond your years, but
do you ever get the fear
that your perfect verse is just a lie you tell
yourself to help you get by?

Dirty Dishes You like this whole frequent updating thing don't you? DON'T YOU?! Yeah, you couldn't fool me. The thing is, I like it too. That's about all. I added some stuff today... mainly the "works in progress", which so far consists of the two short stories I wrote for my fiction writing class last semester. They still need some work, but I'm kind of tired of them, so who knows if that'll ever happen. Jason and I are planning on turning the first one into a movie. Jessica was going to be our Rachel, but God knows when or if she'll ever be back to do it. Anyway, hopefully creativity will grab hold of me this summer -- or I will grab hold of it or SOMETHING because... yeah. That would be fun.
I got an e-mail from the Coldstone people... I am going to be able to go to Georgia in a couple weeks... so I'm pretty excited about that. The only thing is that I am going to miss training and the store opening, and that kind of pisses me off. But what're you going to do, ya know? I've got a vacation to take.
I am going home today for father's day and to visit some friends and the fam... I'll be back tomorrow evening. First I've got to do some dishes (hence the title of this post) and take a shower... so I'm going to get on that. Have a great weekend!

At Last I finally talked to Katie today... it seems like it's been FOREVER (because it has). I also hung out with Jason for a bit. We watched the unrated version of "Old School" at Adam's, and if you're going out of your way to rent the unrated version instead of the rated version, don't, because it is overrated. The only difference I really noticed (aside from the nudity in the main menus) was a more extended graphic dialogue during Andy Dick's oral sex lesson.
I cleaned a lot of the apartment today, which was nice except for I missed out on going to the rec, so I once again feel in a slump. I have to make myself go tomorrow before work, because yeah. Our diet-group met today... my first week wasn't so good, but then again I wasn't really trying all that hard. We had a good dinner though: chicken strips, broccoli, strawberries and ice cream. And yeah.
Still no word on the vacation/Coldstone conflict... I'm hoping I'll still be able to go to Georgia, but I really want this job, so if push comes to shove... I think I will probably decide to stay home and work. Call me Ebeneezer Scrooge... but I really need the money and a more enjoyable job than just carrying piss and blood around a medical campus (I know I always reduce my duties to that, but it's often a lot better; I play hearts with a couple people for about half the time I'm there, so it's not HORRIBLE). Two days in a row!! I'm rocking the suburbs. I am also a very original person.

Ice Cream, Man I just read Jason's last post (which was written about as long ago as mine), and I resent the fact that the only reason he comes over here is for my internet connection. He is out of his element. Bastard.
So I've pretty much recovered from the Target fiasco; my pride has healed, and I got an even better job... AT COLDSTONE CREAMERY!!!! Now I'll be a scooping, singing fool (ask me if you have no clue what I'm talking about). Clo even IM'd me today (I haven't heard from her in FOREVER) to say that she works at a similar ice cream store called Marble Slab, so now we're official Ice Cream buddies. I haven't been this excited since... well... a long time. The only problem is that the store opens on July 1st when I am out of town visiting Aunt Sis and Uncle Chester in Georgia. So they're going to call back if it's a problem... I hope that it's not!!
Pam from work is almost gone, thank God... we changed our filing system from alphabetical to numerical (by specimen number) and she STILL can't get it straight... if nothing else she's worse than ever. I think I'll keep my Peterson job for the summer at least because that way I'll be working almost full time.
My friends (Katie Vincent, Tim, Jason... perhaps Adam and maybe even Amandra) have decided to make camping a weekly ritual since the success of our past weekend's camping/fishing trip. Also I am dieting and exercising, and so far it's going fairly well!! Hopefully soon I'll be the hottest ice cream boy around (first I think I need to get braces again.... but... SOMEDAY!!!) That's all for now; take it easy!
